Uranus and Your House of Freedom

Some parts of our lives our fated and some are not. Uranus in the birth chart describes that part of your life where you are basically free to do as you please, where you have carte blanche, and where everything feels new and exciting. It is the opposite of Saturn which represents karma and restriction.

While the sign position of Uranus shows the manner or style of this freedom, the house positon will show the sector of life where this freedom occurs. The house position is determined by the whole sign Ascendant wnich is the 1st house. The 2nd house follows the sign of the Ascendant and so on.

Uranus, discovered in America in 1781, is the Liberator and Redeemer. It overrides Saturn the Enslaver and Controller who up until that year was the outermost visible planet. Whereas Saturn represents Satan or the Devil, Uranus represents Jesus, Krishna, or the Christ who will liberate us from the bonds of time and space. Uranus' discovery began our modern era of science and invention which would free us from the drudgery of toil and sweat so we could ponder and develop our true divine selves.

Uranus is also the truth that will set us free. Whereas Saturn and Neptune hide the truth Uranus puts it in your face and forces you to deal with it. It can be painful or shocking at first, but ultimately it will be for your betterment and gain. Human nature clings to the past and doesn't really like to change, but sometimes change is necessary, and this is where Uranus comes in. Along with Pluto, Uranus breaks up old and negative habits or patterns that are keeping you from progressing and paves the way for new and better ways of doing things.

Electricity, which came to be in the late 1700's, is Uranian in nature, and has transformed our whole modern way of life, as has the telephone, airplane, television, computer, and technology in general. These are all Uranian inventions. The human body itself is electrical in nature. The Renaissance, Science, The American Revolution, and the country of the United States and its Charter of Freedoms, are all Uranian outgrowths. To exclude Uranus in the Pantheon of planets is to exclude our entire modern era!

Where is Uranus in your birth chart? Specifically, what house is it in? This will reveal where you will do your own thing regardless of others. This is where you will dare to be different and revolutionary, where you will set trends by discovering new ways of doing things.
