The Moon Rules Receptivity

Ever wonder why on certain days people gravitate towards you more easily than on other days? This is because the Moon, feminine ruler of receptivity, is transiting a sign or element favorable to your natal Sun.

I've experienced this far too often for it to be a coincidence. When out in the public, I notice how much more accomodating or receptive people are to me when the Moon is transiting a sign or element harmonious to my Sun, and how they largely ignore me when the Moon is inharmonious. The conjunction or same sign aspect is particularly powerful, but the trine, sextile, and even the opposition can be good as well, whereas the square, quincunx, and semi-sextile are not. And it doesn't have to be by degree although that will intensify things.

This is because the Sun is your most powerful emittor (masculine/positive ruling Leo), and the Moon is your most powerful receiver (feminine/negative ruling Cancer). Being a male, I notice this receptivity particularly with women, although it can work just as powerfully with men. The women around me, and to a lesser extent the men, readily sense and acknowledge my vibes and cater to them.

In synastry (relationship) astrology, a good Sun/Moon relationship is often touted as an indicator of marriage or setting down, with the man's Moon conjunct the woman's Sun being more frequent, followed by the woman's Moon conjunct the man's Sun. The trine, sextile, and opposition are also good with the square, quincunx, and semi-sextile being problematic.

Being more in tune with yourself and others and doing things more quickly or instinctively is another benefit of a harmonious transit of the Moon to your natal Sun. You know just what to say or do under such a transit and things unfold as they should. These transits also stimulate and enhance sexual or emotional expression.

A good lunar transit to your Sun is especially important if you are a double positive (both natal Sun and Moon in air or fire) or a double negative (both natal Sun and and Moon in earth or water). Such people experience sharp good and bad periods every two and a half days, especially if the transiting Sun is also not harmonious. This rule is equally valid in synastry (the study of relationships).

So if you're going on a date, applying for a job, signing a contract, partying, traveling, or any other endeavor, a positive or harmonious transit of the Moon to your natal Sun will do a lot to smooth things out.
