Why are only two planets, Moon/Diana and Venus/Aphrodite, represented by feminine deities in astrology? There should be at least five and ideally six,
as there are six masculine and six feminine signs in astrology.
Sun or Apollo is fine, as is Mars or Ares, Jupiter or Zeus, Mercury or Hermes, and Uranus or Ouranos. But then it goes off the rails. Saturn or Chronos
is NOT a masculine planet but a feminine one, Same for Neptune/Poseidon and Pluto/Hades. Neptune and Pluto in particular are EXTREMELY feminine in natuire
being water sign rulers and shoul be named after feminine deities or godesses.
Pluto for example , would be better named Minerva or even Medusa, but our patriarchal culture has chosen the masculine Pluto. Salacia would be a better fit for Neptune,
but a dwarf planet(the bride of Neptune) has already been given that name. I don't have a better name for Saturn but something like Saturnia might do it. The Saturnalia,
a feminine name, describes the ancient festival period for Saturn in midf-late December.
Even Vulcan, supposedly the name of Virgo's true ruler is not appropriate. Vulcan is a male deity whereas Virgo is a feminine sign. It is true that the earth signs are less
feminine than the water signs but they are feminine nonetheless. Same for the air signs which are borderline masculine when compared to the ultra masculine fire signs.
I find the Egyptian Isis or even the star Sirius to be a better name or deity fit for Virgo.
Below is an "ideal" name chart for the signs and planets...
In this way, there would be six masculine planets named after six masculine gods or deities and six feminine planets named after six femine godesses or deities. The Anunakki when they created or refashioned humanity started with six males and six females representing the six masculine and six feminine signs of astrology. |
