Western astrology is based on the Sun and its seasons whereas Draconic astrology is based on the Moon and its seasons or phases. Solar astrology is spiritual astrology concerned with the present whereas lunar astrology is "soular" astrology and concerned with your past.

There is a reason the north node is listed both in ephemerides and in your chart. It is the doorway to your soular or lunar or draconic chart. Draconic is Latin for lunar node. The lunar node dragon "eats" the Sun during an eclipse.

Just like the Sun, the Moon has two crossing points along its path, definining its seasons. The north node is where the Moon's path crosses the ecliptic on its northward journey and becomes the zero Aries point. The south node is the opposite point where the Moon's path crosses the ecliptic in its southerly journey and becomes the zero Libra point.

So if your north node (I use the true north node) is at 4 Leo, then 4 Leo becomes the 0 Aries point for your draconic chart. Your current natal chart positions are changed accordingly to this difference (124 degrees) to obtain your draconic positions. You can do it manually but its best to do it through some software to avoid mistakes.

The astonishing thing about your draconic or lunar chart is how it reveals certain traits or conditions about yourself not explained by your solar chart. These traits are likely to be past life traits carried over into this one, and driving you on a subconcious level.

Not only this, but I have observed that most if not all of the angles and planets in your draconic chart describe key components of your current relationships, often better than your solar chart. In my own case, the angles in my draconic chart, and planets therein, describe perfectly the most important people (Sun signs) in my life. This includes my parents, family members, and closest intimates or friends, most of whom I knew in past lives and who have come back to support me, or I them. The other sectors and planets describe other lesser relationships.

I have often wondered why our Western astrology is so fixated on the Sun. Very likely because the Sun is the dominant object in our skies without which we could not survive. The ancient Egyptians and Romans worshipped the Sun and created monuments in its honor. Solar worship is very masculine or patrirchal in nature, but the Moon is just as important, symbolizing or embodying the feminine or matriarchal side. The Moon is primary or more important than the Sun in certain countries like India.

The Moon and its orbit could have just as easily been selected as a basis for our zodiac but was not, at least not in the modern West,. It deserves, however, to be brought back. This would mean TWO zodiacs or TWO birth charts, one solar-based and the other lunar-based. Combinig the two will give a fuller or more complete astrology, both in one's self-understanding and in one's relationships.

Someone with the Sun in Leo with a draconic Sun in Gemini would be a Sun in Leo-Gemini, for example. The house position would remain the same (I use whole sign houses) as would the aspects, but the outer (Leo) and inner (Gemini) expressions would differ. Those whose two charts begin with the same rising sign would show no difference.

A person can react to your draconic placements subconciously, and vice-versa, without really knowing why. You may attract or be attracted to the same type of people now as you did in a past life. It may be habitual or there is some unfinished business to tend to. This is all the fun about exploring your draconic chart and that of others.
