At a roughly 25,000 year orbit, it equals the precession of the equinoxes,
and at some 500-900 kilometers it qualifies as a dwarf planet.
Astronomer Edward Charles Pickering predicted a planet at this orbit which he called Q.
While this may not be Q it is an interesting candidate.
We have Pluto with an orbit of 247 yrs, Eris at 567 years, Sedna at 11,400 years, and 2017 OF201 at
roughly 25,000 years. There is a huge gap between Eris and Sedna. Obviously there are more bodies to be
discovered here. Eris is more than twice the orbit of Pluto and 2017 OF21 is more than twice the orbit of Sedna.
2017 OF21 needs an official name so that we can take it more seriously, at least from an astrological
point of view. It can be in a zodiac sign from anywhere from 19 years (when it is close to Neptune) to
anywhere in the thousands of years (when it is farthest out:. That is quite a disparage due to its higly
elongated orbit!
2017 OF21 was at 5 degrees tropical Aquarius at its perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) around
November 13th 1930, and is currently (July 1st 2026) at 9 degrees 9 minutes tropical Taurus. Most of
us had it in Aquarius (1927-1946), Pisces (1946-1970), Aries (1979-2010), and Taurus (2010-2101).
See my previous article on 2017 OF21 in the Astro Tables section for more info.
Planets or heavenly bodies and their aspects are basically time markers for events, either individually or collectively.
With its huge orbit, the influence of 2017 OF21 is more likely to be collective, but it can be significant on an individual
level when closely aspected to a personal planet. The house position should also be noted.
There is very little written about 2017 OF21 in the astrological world which is why I have decided to write this article.
If you have any input on this body astrologically, please share it online.
Does 2017 OF21 have any influence on your natal chart or through transits or progressions? This is the
acid test for a bonafide planet. It does appear to do so in my own chart corresponding with certain events not
covered by the other planets. Check it out.
