Pan-STARRS or C/2025 R3 also known as the Dawn comet was discovered in September of 2025 by the Pan-STARRS observatory in Maui Hawaii. It has an orbit of some 170,000 years with a highly eliptical orbit. The average AU is 3100 and ithe incination is 124.73 degrees. It stays in tropical Taurus for most of its orbit except when near perihelion or closest approach to the Sun which occurs on April 19th 2026. ![]() Most of us have Pan-STARRS C/2025 R3 in early to mid tropical Taurus (1900-2020).
