Have been continuing to study the issues pertaining to gender and
elements in the planets and signs.
Your last reply, I am still digesting. I have come across what seems to
be a paradox and am wondering if you might be able to clear it up?
Originally I had thought that each planet had a single element assigned
to it, as in;
Sun - Fire, Moon - Water, Mars - Fire, Jupiter - Fire, Mercury-Air,
Venus - Earth, Neptune-Water, etc....
But now realize this isnt quite true? The signs seem to remain fixed in
their elemental association, but after
re-reading a table from Halls Astro Keywords, realized I had to account
for Diurnal / Nocturnal "Thrones" Rulerships... found that Mercury,
Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn appear to switch between elements, what I
find especially odd is that the switch occurs between two elements that
are NOT supposed to be compatible, or harmonious together - weird....
Mercury = Air, Earth
Venus = Earth, Air
Mars = Fire, Water
Jupiter = Fire, Water
Saturn = Earth, Air
I reproduced the essence of the table below. Here is what Im wondering,
do the above planets change their elemental association when they go
through a certain sign? Does Mars "become" the water element
when going through the sign it governs 'Scorpio'? If so, then does it
remain fiery when going through other water signs, or does it become
more watery? If Saturn goes through Aquarius and becomes airy does it
also become airy when it goes through Gemini? If Jupiter can be either
fire or water, when it goes through any sign other than
a fire or water sign, how do we know what element it is associated to?
For instance if Jupiter is in Capricorn,
how do we know if Jupiter will act in a watery or fiery way when in
Capricorn? (Is there a way to do this with out relying on the 0 to 30
degree system of each sign? - I noticved you had mentioned you were not
fond of degrees, and I am wondering how else this may be derived?). My
basic confusion arises from wondering how any planet that may be one of
two elements may be determined as being a given elelment at any
situation.

Dear "Mr. X",
You have come to the crux of the rulership issue. Either dual rulership(diurnal/nocturnal)
is valid, or it is not. Why are only the Sun and Moon singular in their expression? These are
excellent and mysterious questions.
Ptolemy's Tetrabiblios(100-170 AD?) is the bible for modern astrology, compiled from more ancient
works, many of them once accessible in the Great Library of Alexandria, which was pillaged and destroyed
by fanatical "Christians" around 400 AD.
The theory for the assignations of the diurnal and nocturnal rulerships for the five visible
planets -Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, are well expounded in chapters 20 and 21 of book I
of Tetrabiblios. Distance, location, temperament, and extensive observation are used to arrive at the
presently assigned rulerships.
These rulership assignations have been used successfully(?) since that time, but it is an ambiguous
system in need of clarification. The whole problem is that our planet and solar system is in a state of
disrepair. Before the Noachian Flood which destroyed Atlantis, our planet was covered or enveloped by a
series of ice canopies which induced an Eden state on our surface. These canopies also acted like lenses
magnifying the skies and making Uranus and Neptune(Pluto was nearer to Earth then), and most of the stars
clearly visible to the naked eye. Astrology was then a twelve-planet/twelve sign system, with each planet
ruling a single sign. The canopies dispersed the sun's rays and heat so that there was no night or winter,
and therefore no diurnal or nocturnal. The whole planet was basked in continual daylight, with no storms,
strong winds, or even shadows, and with temperatures always in the mid-70's farenheight. Then the Invaders
came, and the wars, and the collapse of the canopies, which brought flood and destruction, and disease,
aging, and death. When these canopies are restored, astrology will once again enjoy a golden age, and gone
will be the ambiguous double rulership system that we have today. This process has already started with
the rediscovries of Uranus(1781), Neptune(1846), and Pluto(1930). Earth and X follow, and by then the
canopies will be up and the golden age or millennium begun.
As far as the planets changing or switching their elemental association when going through the various
signs- it all depends on who you read. Some auhors will cling to the notion that Mars, for example will be
fiery in a fire sign, but change its basic nature when going through Scorpio. Others maintain that Mars
will be fiery Mars no matter where it passing through, and I wholeheartedly agree with this latter view. Planets
do not change their basic natures, only the signs(clothes they wear). Mars in Aries, o example, gets things done quickly and
openly. Mars in Scorpio also gets things done quickly, but in a more sneaky or underhanded manner. Mars has
the same impact no matter what sign it is in. It's the STYLE or MANNER that changes.
Our present Moon is a fairly recent aquisition. When the Invaders came and their planet/ship was destroyed,
they used their Moon(now our Moon) as an Ark to settle on Earth and have been with us ever since(mostly in the Inner Earth).
This catastrophic event(linked to Noah's Flood and the sinking of Atlantis) may have occurred around 8800 BC. It
inaugurated night and day and the diurnal/nocturnal rulership scheme, as some of the planets were moved, destroyed, or lost
from sight(Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, X). All of the debris in our solar system(comets, meteors, asteroids, etc. are the
remains of one or more exploded planets in our forgotten past.
Water is the dark or nightside of Fire and Earth is the dark or nightside of Air. There is a great mystery here.
All was once aether or semi-matter, out of which were born the four astrological elements, via cooling, heating,
condensation, etc. Remember when I said there were two primal elements -Fire and Earth; when fire immerses(incarnates)
itself into matter the immersed part becomes Water or Soul. Likewise, the immersed part of Earth becomes Air or Mind.
When Fire or Spirit withdraws from Matter or Body(death), Water or Soul and Air or Mind are no longer. Our spirit
carries the memories of our incarnations, but they are not activated untill our next incarnation, and then mostly on
a subconcious level.
Sun, Mars, or Jupiter will always be fiery, even when passing through Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn -producing(example)
molten lava or hot liquified rock. They will work slower and harder and the element will adapt to become more mobile, but
neither will completely lose their identities or nature. The fire planet will eventually turn off and withdraw and the earth
element will cool off and reharden as a result. Air and fire or water and earth mix much better. The Earth/Air and Fire/Water
association in the double rulership scheme is strenuous and conflicting and reveals a great truth -that our life here and
now is also strenuous and conflicting. Earth life as we know it is a temporary and unnatural state. It is an experiment
doomed to fail! Yet we keep coming back(reincarnating) for more. Why? Because like any bad habit -it's hard to get rid of!
Yes, reincarnation is a bad habit!
When the dual rulership scheme completely singles out we will return to being the spiritual entities we were always meant to
be. Marriage for example, is a Venus/Earth or Taurus/Libra affair. When these two signs have their own official rulers, marriage
will vanish(and it's already happening) and we will be like the angels who neither marry nor have sex. Communication is a Mercury/X
or Gemini/Virgo affair. When these two signs finally have their own offiical rulers, we will lose our speech and become telepathic.
There is more to be gained when every planet becomes independent and is linked to only one ruling sign than when it is with two.
Our whole unnatural(and compromised) lifestyle is due to this dual linkage of signs and elements. It's like two people trying to live
their unique lifestyles under the same roof -there are usualy more conflicts than benefits. Personally, I'd rather have my own apartment.
It's also like two different races sharing the same country(Quebec and the rest of Canada, for example). Sooner or later they'll want
and have their own borders.
Assigning two signs or elements to the same planet is a bad thing, even though it presently exists. It's like putting two entirely different
people in the same living quarters, when each should have his own dwelling. This situation has come about because of the dissaray in our solar system.
There was an interplanetary rebellion or invasion. Planets were occupied or destroyed. Whole races or populations were destroyed or relocated. That
is why we have so many different races on our planet. We do not all belong on this planet! The ruling race of a planet constitutes its rulership.
Since I believe our planet to be ruled by Libra its ruling race would most likely be blonde and blue-eyed(Holy shades of Hitler!). Does this race
inhabit the Inner Earth. I don't really know. Perhaps(at least that's where Hitler was pointing to). Many of Earth's races colonized here or were imported
from other worlds, as were many of our animals and vegetation.
The bottom line is that each planet should be linked(ideally) to only one sign or element, and that for it to be linked to two(which is possible -like
two(or more) spirits or entities possessing the same body) will only make problems. Our planet will undergo an exorcism!
I hope this was imformative(and entertaining). In fact, I'm surprised I even came up with some of the imformation I just wrote. It's like I'm
writing or thinking this for the first time. Maybe I'll make a page of it on my site. That's all for now. I'm tired and will go to bed.
Till next time,
