Astrology and
The Kings of Matter

The Sun in your chart shows where you are a king, ruler, or authority. Especially revealing is the element your Sun is in. There are four elements in astrology; fire symbolizing spirit or the life force, earth symbolizing matter or the physical body, air symbolizing mind or the intellect, and water symbolizing soul or the emotional nature.

Since we are primarily egos focused on the material plane, it follows that those who are born with the Sun in the earth element are the natural rulers or representatives of that plane(astrologically speaking). This means that all those who have their Sun placed in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn at birth, exercise the most power or aurthority here on this material plane. The Earth Sun signs can therefore be said to be the "kings" of matter on the earth plane.

Likewise, the air Sun signs are the kings of the mental or intellectual plane, the fire Sun signs are the kings of the spiritual or vital plane, and the water Sun signs are the kings of the soul or astral plane.

Taurus is the most physical or primal of the Earth signs, so that people born with the Sun in Taurus are the natural and primary rulers of this material world or existence we live in. This is borne out by the large number of individuals or organizations ruled by this sign. One particular individual who comes to mind is Wall Street broker Bernard Madoff who is powerfully influenced by this sign(Sun, Moon, Venus, and Uranus in Taurus). Banks, The Federal Reserve, and the Illuminati are all Taurus-ruled organizations. Taurus is after all the sign of money and wealth, and it is these two factors or principles which basically dominate our materialistic society.

We are basically spiritual beings, energies, or egos, incarnated and/or trapped in dense matter. Matter is stronger than spirit and is our parent or teacher. Our spirits are shaped or developed through our interaction with matter. The result is the soul or personal self. The mind or intellect is the tool our soul uses to shape or control matter. Only the mind is more powerful than matter.

The other two earth Sun signs, Capricorn and Virgo, also have dominant roles on the material plane. While Taurus is pure or raw matter, Capricorn is organized or defined matter. It is also vitalized or vivified matter since Capricorn is a cardinal or active sign. Matter in action or matter in motion is a good definition. Sun in Capricorn means the ruling or governing of the material world according to established rules and regulations(laws). Virgo actually implements or puts into practice these laws through services or the labor force. Sun in Virgo can therefore be defined as the ruler or upholder of the work force and the intelligent(mutable) maker or distributor of material goods and services.

All of our material reality or plane can be described by the three earth signs and the various planets therein. Sun, Mars, or Jupiter in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn describe the more dynamic or expressive facets of the material existence such as active volcanoes and earthquakes, living vegetation, and organic life in general. Mercury, Venus, and Saturn in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn describe the more dense or solid aspects of matter such as crystals and minerals, mountains and landscapes, and worlds or planets. Uranus and the air sign rulers in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn describe the winds or atmospheric gases and elements, whereas Moon, Neptune, and Pluto in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn describe the waters, seas, oceans and malleable or liquidious gases or elements.

The Sun(in unison with Mars and Jupiter) gives life or force to matter so that it becomes a living organism. Human life in general is a product of the fire planets in earth signs. Your body is composed of pure or raw matter(Taurus), which is inteligently organized(Virgo), and defined or galvanized(Capricorn). The human body as a specialized organism can be said to be a dominantly Virgoan product. The air signs beautify this product, the fire signs give it energy or expression, and the water signs give it softness and sensitivity.

The material world or universe in which we live is a temporal creation or experiment. It was not meant to be permanent or lasting, but it will manifest on a continual basis as we are in need of it to develop or express our spirits regardless of whether it is an illusion or not. Ideally, matter should be of an inorganic state(non-moving or living). We and all organic forms are an intrusion here which is why we are always at war, and we are addicted to this state. In astrology the masculine planets in the feminine signs describe this incompatible state. All organic life here in the material plane is sadly an abomination, and can only end in degeneration and death.

Sun, Mars, Jupiter(fire planets), and Mercury, Uranus, and Earth/Asc?(air planets), in the earth or water signs all represent organic life on the material plane which is an incompatible state. The masculine or positive planets are the principle conductors of the life force or spirit which is eternally at odds with matter. The fire planets in particular, and most notably the Sun are at the forefront of this conflict. If the Sun or even Mars or Jupiter in an earth sign are kings of matter, then the air planets the princes. What about the queen and princesses?

The above reveals another issue -that of patriarchy versus matriarchy. It is obvious in today's world that the male essence is basically incompatible with the physical planet's female nature. "Nature" is basically feminine, and the male presence here is an intrusion or abomination. The main fruits of our male-dominated society are war and conflict. Male-dominated technology or ingenuity has only made things worse in the long run resulting in our largely polluted and degenerated lifestyles. The queens and princesses of matter must be allowed to reign again if this world is ever to regenerate. Astrologically, this is signified by the feminine planets in the feminine signs, most notably the Moon(or Neptune and Pluto) in an earth sign. The Sun and his male counterparts in the earth element must be subdued.

The kings of matter and their patriarchal system must be removed from power before this physical planet can enjoy its naturally feminine birthright. Masculine hegemony or rule belongs to the higher mental and spiritual planes and not here on the lower physical where it becomes brutal and destructive. Matriarchy as opposed to patriarchy should be the dominating force on this physical earth plane.
