Astrology

HOW CAN THOSE DISTANT CHUNKS OF ROCK HAVE ANY EFFECT ON MY LIFE?
First of all, the twelve planets of our solar system are more than just chunks of rock, they are living worlds, etherically and electro-magnetically linked to one another, as are all other worlds in this universe, or rather -omniverse. What happens on Mars or Pluto registers on Earth via the ethers which surround and interpenetrate all visible matter. Transmission through these ethers is faster than light, so that time and distance become inconsequential. It is the invisible or spiritual power of the planets that make astrology work. The planets themselves are the outer manifestations and anchors for these powers or forces. We do not see these forces because of our degenerated perceptive faculties, but their effect is undeniably felt or seen. All cosmic forces are first filtered through our planet and its inner sun and then distributed safely to all living creatures. The planets of our solar system are in reality the crystalized chakras or energy centers of that great being we call God, who is in the company of other Gods, and who watches over even lesser gods.

CYBERNETICS
Cybernetics is the science of imformation reciprocity between the Earth's electromagnetic field(Van Allen belts) and the planet and its organisms. Changes or fluctuations in this field account for changes in the mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual state or constitution of all forms under its influence, from mood changes, to earthquakes, to biological modifications or upgrades. Every planet has such a field, extending many times its own diameter in the shape of a torus. It is like an invisible brain or computer over the pituitary or pineal, a storehouse of knowledge and energies, coming from and returning to its hosted lifeforms. In it is located the planet's entire history(akashic record) accessible to all who develop their psychic senses. The Earth's field has two layers, one 1000 miles up and the other 15,000 miles up. These interacting fields have their source in the planet's inner sun which wobbles and rotates counter to it, taking approximately 625 years to make one complete rotation. Our planet has its own field and swims within this larger one. The magnetic fields of all the planets interlink with themselves and the Sun so that exchange of imformation and influences can occur and this process is called Astrology.

SUN SIGN ASTROLOGY:
Sun sign or newspaper astrology, while popular, is only skimming the surface. There's a lot more to astrology than just your Sun sign. Because the dates hardly change from year to year it's easy to see why it gets all the attention. Billions of people cannot, however, all be lumped into twelve groups. We are multi-faceted beings. What makes one Gemini or Leo different from another are his or her other planetary placements, such as the Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, etc. Everyone has a total of twelve planetary positions in their birth chart and the chances of having these same combinations again is astronomical, and is what makes us all unique. What we do share are similar patterns of behaviour and even appearance based on similar planetary positions, and this is what makes astrology so interesting.

IF YOU'RE SERIOUS ABOUT ASTROLOGY:
Linda Goodman's Sun Signs and Love Signs are fine for starters in Astrology, but if you really wanna get serious about the subject I suggest you go to your favorite bookstore and buy The Compleat Astrologer by Derek & Julia Parker. This is the book that taught me the basics as well as chartbuilding and is easy to use and well illustrated. It covers all the bases and contains all the tables you'll ever need and is in my opinion the most comprehensive and authorotative book on astrology there is on the market(leave it to the British).

ASTROLOGY IS A GEOCENTRIC(EARTH-CENTERED) SCIENCE/ART
Astrology, properly understood, adds tremendous richness and meaning to our lives, by connecting us to the cosmos on all levels of our being. Unlike astronomy, the first rule is that YOU(and your planet) are the center or reference point of your universe and that everything must be interpreted from this perspective. In Astrology, the terrestial(Ascendant) and celestial(Midheaven) spheres represent your two most immediate realities, followed by the two lights or luminaries(Sun and Moon), the benefics or two brightest planets(Venus and Jupiter), the malefics or next brightest planets(Mars and Saturn), the invisible transcendentals(Uranus and Neptune), and the errants(Mercury and Pluto). All twelve are equally important despite differences in size, distance, luminosity, or density, and all must be measured or computed astrologically as seen from the individual's exact location and time(of birth). If you lived on Mars, then everything would be calculated from there.

TWINS: PROOF OF ASTROLOGY
The phenomenon of twins is one of the great proofs of astrology -that the closer in time and space two people are born, the more they will share similar traits, personalities, and destinies. Twins must be born(draw their first breath) within one or two hours of each other, otherwise they will have different rising and/or midheaven signs and no longer look or think exactly the same. The Moon and other planets must also be the same if they are to be perfectly identical twins. The odds of all these factors realigning themselves into the exact same pattern will not re-occur for thousands of years! Most twins, by the way, are born under the sign of Gemini(the sign of The Twins), or have a strong Gemini influence in their charts.

QUALITIES

CARDINAL, FIXED, AND MUTABLE
Cardinal signs(Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are often described as pushy, bossy, and impatient. Cardinal signs want action and they want it NOW. This conflicts with the fixed signs(Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) who are often described as slow, stubborn, and unchanging. Fixed signs are happy with things as they are and don't like too many surprises. This would bore the mutable signs(Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) who are often described as clever, witty, communicative, and very changeable and often unreliable. Mutable signs need ideas, diversity, and mobility. Someone with a balanced chart(three or four planets in each of these modes) will have all of these qualities. It is the unbalanced charts that can be troublesome.

CARDINAL SIGNS MEAN ACTION
In astrology, the four cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, signify spirit, action, initiative, power, and strength. People with fewer than four planets in cardinal signs are not basically self-starters and need others to prod them on, while those with more than four planets in cardinal signs must make their own way in life with as little interference from others as possible. Four planets is an ideal balance. Cardinal people are bossy and competitive and like to stay busy even into old age. The problem is they don't know when to stop or slow down and would rather burn out than take it easy. Aries is personal or individual action, Cancer is family or group action, Libra is partnerhip in action, and Capricorn is organized or buisness action. Aries and Libra are outwardly active whereas Cancer and Capricorn like to pull the strings from behind the scenes. Cardinal signs do not like to leave their lives to fate. They have enough energy and power to carve out their own destinies. They are here to create karma rather than to be subject to it. We live on a cardinal(Libran) planet, which means that we are here to live and act in a concerted effort.

LIVING IN A CARDINAL WORLD
Earth is a cardinal planet(ruled by Libra), although Taurus(fixed sub-ruler) has a lot to say about it too. Cardinal means action, and unless you have four or more planets in cardinal signs(Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), you will not make much of an impact here. You are better off on some non-cardinal planet wherever your emphasis is. This world is ruled by people who are strong(Aries), protective(Cancer), attractive(Libra), and organized(Capricorn). Earth has the best-looking(Libra) species in this solar system and Mars or Aries is its best partner. Saturn/Capricorn serves as a home base and Moon/Cancer is the boss. It's no wonder that Cancer(ous) nations such as the United States and their leaders(Bush is a Cancer native) so easily rule this planet. Librans are afraid of emotion(it upsets their balanced natures) so they give in to it. Nations and peoples with planets in Cancer will always have a dominant influence on this planet and it's inhabitants. At the other end is Capricorn who will always be dominated or subservient to this planet's interests -did you get that Saturn/Satan? today's politicians and governmrnt leaders and organizations are only ruling by default. We are permitting them. Laziness and inaction on our part have also led to our being ruled by money and materialism(Taurus), through an enslaved work force(Virgo). This is because we are letting ourselves be intoxicated by food(Cancer), sex(Scorpio), and drugs(Pisces). The answer or solution to this is to acquire knowledge(Gemini) and truth(Aquarius), and to act(Aries) on it with faith(Sagittarius) and dignity(Leo). Only then will harmony and balance(Libra) be restored to this planet. Libra(those with Libran planets), you need to get off your lazy derriere and stop being so Taurus-like and finally stand up for youself and make that all important stand or decision. Don't be afraid of the reaction. You have the truth and know what needs to be done, and yes it isn't going to please everyone, but only the assholes aren't going to come around to it. Take charge and become cardinal again. Make Dylan Hunt(Kevin Sorbo of Andromeda) your example. The fate of the planet depends on it!

FIXED SIGNS MEAN STABILITY
The four fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, signify matter, stability, fixity, and perserverence. People with fewer than four planets in fixed signs lack purpose or follow-through, while those who have more than four planets in fixed signs are solid, determined, unchanging types(stubborn) who will stick to something untill it is completed. Four planets is an ideal balance. Fixed sign types make excellent executives who can be relied upon to get the job done. Taurus is financial or material stability, Leo is spiritual stability, Scorpio is emotional stability, and Aquarius is mental stability or fixity. Taurus and Scorpio are determined in a quiet introverted manner, while Leo and Aquarius display their determination in a much more outwardly manner. Fixed signs have a much more fated philosophy, believing they were meant to achieve some purpose from birth. Venus, for example, is a fixed planet, and the people there don't change much.

MUTABLE SIGNS MEAN ADAPTABILITY
The four mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces signify versatility, and adaptability, and communicativeness. People with fewer than four planets in the mutable signs are not very flexible or adaptable and find it difficult to see many points of view. People with more than four planets in mutable signs are very changeable, restless, and unstable, yet they can make great communicators or idea people. Four planets is an ideal balance. Mutable types make excellent subordinates or employees; they were born to serve and follow. They make great writers, newscasters, secetaries, or artists -anything to do with communication. Gemini and Sagittarius are more open and vocal with their ideas and beliefs, while Virgo and Pisces like to express themselves more quietly through their deeds and sacrifices. Mercury is a mutable planet; people there are big on learning.

THE ANGLES

THE ASCENDANT -WHAT IS IT?
It's the second most popular term in astrology after "what's your sign" yet few people really know what the Ascendant, also called the Rising sign, really is. Your "sign" is the Sun's placement and should more correctly be termed your "Sun sign". Your Ascendant or Rising sign is the Earth's placement as seen from your exact time and place of birth. Because we live on the Earth, it must be measured in a special way -via the eastern horizon along the ecliptic. A different sign is seen "rising" here roughly every two hours based on the Earth's rotation. So now you know why the Ascendant is so important in astrology -it is your Earth, Terra, or Gaia sign. Astrologically it rules the sign Libra, and the principle of relationships(who you attract into your life), as well as your general physical appearance(Taurus sub-rulership).

THE ASCENDANT AND YOUR EARTHLY PURPOPSE
The ascendant or rising sign in your chart is the influence of none other than our very own planet Earth. Earth rules Libra -the sign of beauty, harmony, and relationships, and is subruler of Taurus -the sign of matter or substance. While collectively, the purpose of our planet and its inhabitants is to bring tangible beauty and harmony to the rest of the solar system, the way in which each individual does this is determined by the ascending sign at birth. Aries rising individuals bring harmony through action and initiative. Taurus rising through wealth and resources, Gemini rising through knowledge and communication, Cancer rising through caring and nurturing, Leo rising through love and playfulness, Virgo rising through labor and efficiency, Libra rising through justice and co-operation, Scorpio rising through recompense and devotion, Sagittarius rising through ethics and growth, Capricorn rising through law and order, Aquarius rising through truth and liberty, and Pisces rising through compassion and sacrifice. Your ascendant is your Earth or Gaia sign and determines your worldly purpose. In what way do you bring harmony into your world?

The MIDHEAVEN -WHAT IS IT?
It's easy to understand Sun signs and Moon Signs and Mercury Signs, etc., but one of the most mysterious concepts in astrology(after the Ascendant) is something called the Midheaven. If you get into a serious study of the subject you'll discover that the Midheaven is as important as your Sun or Ascendant, yet very little is really known about it. Why the mystery? Well for one thing, a true understanding of both the Midheaven and Ascendant would reveal the true nature of our hollow planet -something the "authorities" of this world are not quite ready to let you know. Well I'm going to let you know. The Midheaven is our hollow Earth's Inner Central Sun. There, I said it. The way this inner sun affects us is through the zenith or highest point in the sky along the ecliptic as seen from the individual's exact time and place of birth. The Midheaven sign changes roughly every two hours and is also based on the Earth's rotation. I am not sure what sign it is linked to. The Midheaven determines your ego-conciousness or that voice you listen to inside your head.

PLANETS AND SIGNS

NEPTUNE: PLANET OF DREAMS AND ILLUSIONS
The planet Neptune was discovered on September 23rd of 1846 at 26 degrees of Aquarius, and will complete its first full orbit since its discovery in late 2009(it takes 165 years to go once around the sun). Three years later, in 2012, it moves into its home sign of Pisces in which it will stay for 14 years(Neptune, because of its distance, spends 14 years in every sign). This planet rules our psychological state and collective unconcious, and only after 2009 will humanity start to see through the haze somewhat and begin to understand the illusory or dreamlike state of the material world in which he or she is presently living. The sign your Neptune is in at your birth specifies the type of illusion you and your generation are addicted to. Neptune in Leo(1915-1929) still lives in Hollywood. Neptune in Virgo(1929-1943) lose themselves in their work. Neptune in Libra(1943-1957) are still the flower children. Neptune in Scorpio(1956-1970) uses sex and drugs to escape. Neptune in Sagittarius(1970-1984) dreams of Shangrila. Neptune in Capricorn(1984-1998) envisions the New World Order, and Neptune in Aquarius(1998-2012) fantasizes about Utopia. (Note: for specific entry dates check the tables in the "Fun With Astrology" section of this site..

THE SUN -YOUR AUTHORITY PLANET
The zodiacal sign your Sun was in at birth reveals what you are an authority on. Sun in Aries is respected for his or her self-confidence and ability to take the initiative. Sun in Taurus is relied upon for his or her resourcefulness and capacity to evaluate. Sun in Gemini gets praised for his or her mental and communicative abilities. Sun in Cancer is known for his or her nurturing and preserving capacities. The Sun is at home in Leo and these people are natural authorities in whatever they do or decide to undertake. Sun in Virgo people can be counted on to provide you with thorough and efficient service. Sun in Libra knows all about relationships, art, and etiquette. Sun in Scorpio is the authority on death and the dark side of human nature. Sun in Sagittarius is the person to consult on matters of faith or religion. Sun in Capricorn folk know how to save, organize, and get by on very little. Sun in Aquarius people have the monopoly on truth and originality. Sun in Pisces knows all about dreams, and fantasy, and "the other side". The Sun is also what is important to you, or what makes you happy.

MERCURY AND SCHOOL
It's no coincidence that primary school begins in late August or early September(Virgo) and ends in mid to late June(Gemini). Both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by the planet Mercury which governs learning and communication. Gemini is general, abstract, or rudimentary learning, while Virgo is practical, hands-on, or trade-oriented learning. The sign or element your Mercury is in at birth will indicate how you best learn and what skills you are likely to possess or develop. Firesign Mercurys have active leadership skills, Earth sign Mercurys are practical and methodical, Air sign Mercurys have social and intellectual skills, and Water sign Mercurys are highly sensitive and caring.

GEMINI-THE SIGN OF YOUTH
People with planets in Gemini often have a youthful look about them that lasts into old age. Take Paul McCartney of the famed Beatles for example, who has retained his youthful look well into old age. A study of his chart shows that he has the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Uranus in Gemini(born June 18,1942). What is it about this sign that keeps people young? Gemini is described as being clever, witty, and charming, with a love of communication. It is the sign of learning, knowledge, intelligence, awareness, versatility, adaptability, and change. Keeping the mind and body busy and stimulated are priorities for Gemini types. Repetition, slowness, and boredom are their enemies. They cannot endure any one person place or thing for long periods of time. This constant need for change makes them unstable, but it is also what keeps them young. We were not meant to have boring repetitive lives; every day should be different. The same goes for our relationships; we shouldn't have to be with the same people all our lives; permanent or binding relationships are suffocating for this sign. When this sign is prominent in a chart it makes for great speakers, writers, scholars, teachers, salespeople, news anchors and broadcasters, actors, drivers, postmen/women, messengers, delivery people, gameshow hosts, comedians, humourists, mimics, ventriloquists, thiefs, crooks, burglars, and con men. Variety, change, newness, and lightheartedness are the secrets of Geminian youth.

SAGITTARIUS AND RELIGION
Of all the zodiac signs, Sagittarius has the most to do with religion, ethics, morality, or spirituality. It is also the sign of hope, faith, optimism, honesty, benevolence, clarity, vision, and growth. The same qualities can be attributed to the planet Jupiter which is the ruler of Sagittarius. Jupiter works best in its home sign of Sagittarius, bringing out the best or purest qualities of that sign. Sun and Mars also work quite well in this sign giving the individual strong moral or ethical principles by which he or she lives by. Mercury, Ascendant, and Uranus also do fairly well here, but these people are more likely to communicate spirituality rather than personify it. The remaining six planets are where the problems begin -where spirituality or morality turns into "religion" or sectarianism. Moon, Neptune, or Pluto in Sagittarius individuals display the more traditional or conservative aspects of faith which are highly tainted with emotionalism of a more or less negative nature. Unreasonableness or fanaticism is always a danger with these placements. Saturn and Venus in Sagittarius tend to produce highly organized and lucrative forms of worship beneficial mainly to the individuals who have such placements in their chart. I am uncertain about the Midheaven in Sagittarius, but would probably group it with the more negative placements.

VENUS IN ARIES -LET'S GET IT ON!
Picture an excited or hyperactive bull and you'll have a good idea of what Venus in Aries is all about. These people love a steady dose of action and challenge in their lives, even if it borders on mayhem. Here you'll find the hunter, racer, and seducer, all in one. They love speed and sex and sports and are not afraid of going after what they want. Unfortunately, they can be rather headstrong, impatient, ruthless, and even downright dangerous, yet that is what makes this placement so magnetic. Many famous and enduring actors/actresses are born with Venus in Aries: Rudolph Valentino, Katherine Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Jack Nicholson, Jack Lemmon, Mia Farrow, Eddie Murphy, Lucy Lawless, .

VENUS IN GEMINI -THE FLIRT
This planetary position, perhaps more than any other(Moon in Gemini comes close), has the reputation of the flirt or philanderer. From Rudolph Valentino to Joan Collins, Venus in Gemini people flit from one sexual escapade to another, never fully satisfied with each conquest. They are stimulated by the mind more than by anything else can literally think themselves to orgasm. Humor, variety, and an intelligent or witty conversion turn these people on. It is nearly impossible for them to remain faithful, and yet that is part of their appeal. Venus in Gemini people also enjoy reading, writing, talking, walking, and driving or local travel. They often have or buy two or more of everything -cars, houses, jobs, lovers, etc., and like to do many things at the same time. You can only have Venus in Gemini if you are a Sun in Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, or Leo. Other famous Venus in Geminis include Clara Bow, Jacqueline Onassis(Kennedy), John F. Kennedy, and Cher.

VENUS IN SCORPIO -SEX BOMB
This is perhaps the sexiest placement in astrology -the planet of eroticism and sensuality in the sign of sexual passion and intensity. Scorpio Sun signs are the most likely to have this placement followed by Sun in Libra or Sagittarius, and Sun in Virgo or Capricorn. This is because Venus is never more than 48 degrees away from the Sun in astrology. People with this placement are intensely passionate and exude incredible sex appeal, but they are not necessarily flirtatious. In fact, they prefer solid or permanent relationships to casual ones. The flirtier ones probably have a strong mutable sign emphasis, especially planets in Gemini. Sexy stars with Venus in Scorpio include: Scorpios: Demi Moore, Jodie Foster, Meg Ryan, Winona Ryder, Goldie Hawn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix. Libra: Monica Bellucci, Romy Schneider, Susan Sarandon, Fran Drescher, Matt Damon, Bruce Springsteen, Jean Claude Van Damme. Sagittarius: Katie Holmes, Jennifer Connelly, Jane Birkin, Terry Hatcher, Nelly Furtado, Jim Morrison, Bruce Lee, Kirk Douglas. Virgo: Nicole Richie, Ulrika Ericsson, Alexis Bledel, Twiggy, Tommy Lee Jones, Oliver Stone, David McCallum. Capricorn: Ava Gardner, Barbara Carrera, Estella Warren, Annie Lennox, Val Kilmer, Denzel Washington, Jon Voight.

JUPITER IN SCORPIO -THE NINE LIVES POSITION
These people attract danger and death and survive to tell about it. They are spys, detectives, night stalkers and hunters, all of them. They are drawn to all that is dark, shady, mysterious, or forbidden, often risking their lives doing so, but are providentially rescued every time. They are magnetic and sexually attractive, but the price may be your life! Famous Jupiter in Scorpio celebrities: Madonna, Sharon Stone, Glen Close, Elvis Presley, Farrah Fawcett, Arnold Schwarzenneger, O.J.Simpson, Gene Wilder.

MARS IN GEMINI -CAN"T STOP THINKING!
I know several Mars in Gemini people who let me in on the fact that they can never stop thinking. Their minds are on constant overdrive and they spend a lot of sleepless nights because of it. Not that they're worriers -they just live in their heads. These people love variety and cannot stay in one relationship or job for long unless it offers many possibilities. They are also inspirational speakers, writers, and communicators in general. They are attractive and interesting and youthful people, everchanging and always on the go, and impossible to categorize or pin down. Famous Mars in Gemini celebrities: Phyllis Diller, Barbera Streisand, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Arnold Schwarzenneger.

WHAT EVERY SIGN REFUSES
Aries refuses to die or accept failure. Taurus refuses to change or give up. Gemini refuses to stay still or be pinned down to anyone or anything. Cancer refuses to forget or let go. Leo refuses to submit or accept no for an answer. Virgo refuses to overlook details or stay idle. Libra refuses to be alone or unfair. Scorpio refuses to be shallow or wishy washy. Sagittarius refuses to be dishonest or stop believing. Capricorn refuses to be or frivolous or do things the easy way. Aquarius refuses to be ordinary or conventional. Pisces refuses to stop dreaming or face reality.

SPECIAL ISSUES

THE IDEAL CHART OR HOROSCOPE
The perfect chart would be to have every planet in its home sign(Sun in Leo, Moon in Cancer, Earth/Ascendant in Libra, etc.) but our present orbital positioning does not allow this(Mercury and Venus are always too close to the Sun). The best you can hope for is to have all the planets in signs compatible to their natures, but even this is difficult to achieve. Two or more planets in one sign is considered an excess, whereas an unoccupied sign is considered a deficiency. Planets in their own signs are the purest and most powerful influences anyone can have and reflect the true and ideal nature of God and Man/Woman. Planets in their own or opposing element are successful but watered down versions of this, whereas planets in incompatible elements represent all that is wrong or distorted in life.

TWELVE TIME CYCLES
Our system of time keeping, especially here in the West, is largely out of tune with the rythym of our cosmos and this is having negative consequences for us. We are only following the two most basic cycles -those of the Sun and the Earth which give us our yearly and daily cycles. Our monthly cycle is an artificial twelvefold division of our year. The true monthly cycle is based on the phases of the Moon and is slightly shorter than 30 days. Even our seven-day week is artificial, having no apparent astronomical basis. Cycles we are ignoring: the yearly zodiacal cycles of Mercury and Venus, the (just under)two-year cycle of Mars, the approximate 12-year cycle of Jupiter, the 29.5(average)-year cycle of Saturn, the 84-year cycle of Uranus, the 165-year cycle of Neptune, the 248-year cycle of Pluto, and one more as yet undiscovered or hidden cycle. ALL of these cycles and their twelvefold subdivisions are important and should become part of our calendar or means of keeping time. Each of these "hands" of time is intimately related to our biological and psychological natures and should be used to better organize our lives. This is called astrology.

THE PLANETARY CYCLE OF BIRTH AND DEATH
Six planets govern our life on Earth, and another six off of it. The Moon(Cancer) is our birth and infancy, Mercury(Gemini) our childhood, Venus(Taurus) our adolescence, Mars(Aries) our adulthood, Jupiter(Sagittarius) our middle age, and Saturn(Capricorn) our old age. Uranus(Aquarius) is liberation from this plane, Neptune(Pisces) is the astral plane, and Pluto(Scorpio) is the hell we must all face, Earth(Libra) is judgement, X/Vulcan(Virgo) is your reward or punishment(reaping what you sow), and the Sun(Leo) is your pre-natal divine(godly) state. The sign each planet is in at birth characterizes that stage of your life. If, for example, Saturn is in Aries, then you will most likely be very active in your old age. If Uranus is in Taurus you will seek liberation from this plane by developing a detached attitude towards all material things, and so on.

EARTH RULES LIBRA NOT TAURUS
When will astrologers affirm the obvious and declare the Earth as the true ruler of Libra? Because we live on planet Earth its influence comes to us in a special way -via the Ascendant or Rising sign. In all my thirty years of reading I have found only one assosciation that has the intelligence and courage to make public the connection between the Earth and the ascendant -The American Astro Analysts Institute -in their popular twelve volume series; Astro Analysis. This was back in 1976, and some years later I went a step further and noticed the correlation between the Earth/Ascendant and a person's beauty or physical attractiveness. The ascendant or rising sign is definitely more attractive or desirable in the masculine signs and best of all in Libra. Anyone with a little astrological knowledge and a keen eye for appearances can confirm this. Am I the only one who can see this, or is there a conspiracy to hide the truth? There is no question in my mind that planet Earth rules Libra via the the Ascendant or Rising sign and that Venus belongs to Taurus. What do you think?

MIDHEAVEN/TWELFTH PLANET STILL UNCLEAR, UNCERTAIN
In my 25 years of serious study and observation of astrology, I can personally attest to and confirm the very observable affects that the Sun, Moon, Earth/Ascendant, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, have on the behaviour and appearance of people, places, and things. Of these eleven planetary influences I have no doubt. What I do not have a firm handle on is the Midheaven/twelfth planet possibility. Astrology is not yet complete, nor is humanity, and this is a great mystery and challenge to me, as I'm sure it is to all astrologers. I am looking forward to the day when all mysteries surrounding this subject and others will be solved so that we can finally fully benifit from its/their wisdom..

VIRGOS IN SEARCH
When Pluto's astrological identity was finally agreed upon, Scorpio's were happy to finally have a planet all their own, leaving Mars to Aries. Now Virgo's are expressing some discontent at having to share Mercury with Gemini, wanting their own planet as well. Understandably, having your own planetary ruler is like having your own country or your own apartment or house; there is a cetain satisfaction derived in the identity and independance it gives you. Taurus and Libra are also struggling with this, but if you have studied my site you will see that I have resolved the Earth/Venus rulership issue. For me, only the Gemini/Virgo rulership issue remains to be solved. Mercury may very well be the true ruler of Gemini, but what of Virgo? There are so many candidates, from Vulcan to Ceres to Chiron to Quaoar to Planet X and others. Even the Midheaven(Earth's inner sun) is a possibility, and sometimes I feel the Moon is more closely related to Virgo than to Cancer. The fact that we are in the Computer(Virgo) or Imformation(Gemeni) Age may indicate an imminent resolution to this question or problem. If you wish to settle the matter for yourself try to visually and otherwise discern Mercury's influence in individuals you know. I have tried this but am still divided, as I can still see both influences at work. I guess I'll have to wait like everyone else.

ARACHNE DOES NOT COMPUTE
The idea that there are actually thirteen signs in the zodiac instead of twelve does not harmonize with the basic tenets of astrology. Astrology is a symmetrical art or science requiring an EVEN number of signs for it to work at all. Thirteen is an odd number and completely destroys the "aspect by sign" principle so that Leo, for example, would no longer be opposite Aquarius or trine Aries and so on. In fact, it would not have ANY relationship at all to ANY of the other signs as thirteen can only be divided by one or itself. As legend has it, a Cretan girl named Arachne(the spider goddess)challenged Athena to a weaving contest. Arachne won, but out of jealousy, Athena destroyed her work and Arachne hung herself in despair. As further punishment Athena turned Arachne into a spider doomed to hang and spin forever. As the thirteenth sign of intuition(based on the thirteen lunar months of the year) the sign Arachne(the spider) supposedly occupies the space between Taurus the Bull and Gemini the Twins, but as said earlier, this would destroy the present symmetrical harmony between the signs, and I do not support this whatsoever. Arachne does not compute!

RACES AND NATIONS HAVE HOROSCOPES TOO
The race or nation you're born under has its own peculiar characteristics or personality traits based on its inception or time of birth, and can modify your own chart characteristics. The United states, for example, is a Sun in Cancer, Gemini rising nation(July 4, 1776, 2:14 am); Americans impress others as being intellectually advanced(Mars and Uranus are also in Gemini), but are at heart a very emotional and family oriented peoples(Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are also in Cancer). Great Britain(December 25, 1066 and/or January 1st, 1801) is a pompous, proud , and dignified nation(Jupiter in Leo?) but is equally serious, strict, and economical(Sun in Capricorn). Radical but sexy France has a strong Aquarius(rising?)/Leo(Mars?) influence in its chart. Russia(November 7, 1917 has the secretive Sun in Scorpio, and China is strongly influenced by Libra/Scorpio. Motherly India and rugged Africa appear to have Cancer and Taurus rising respectively. The American Indian definitely has Scorpio rising. In general, the lighter taller races have air or fire signs rising , while the shorter darker races have earth or water signs rising. The national horoscope will modify the individual horoscope somewhat. If you're a native American, for example, and have no planets in Cancer but feel a certain domestic inclination, it may be your national horoscope influencing you!

SENTIENCE AND THE 16 SIGN ZODIAC
There are only three "pure" signs in the zodiac: Aries, or pure spirit(cardinal/fire), Taurus or pure matter(fixed/earth), and Gemini or pure mind(mutable/air). There is no pure soul sign. A pure soul sign would have to be of the water element but not of the cardinal, fixed, or mutable modes. A new mode, which I shall call sentient, and four additional zodiac signs and planets would have to be incorporated. In this sixteen sign zodiac, there would be four signs of each element and mode. There were once ten signs and planets(Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio were all rolled into one), and this was the ten-petalled third chakra stage of our mammalian development, of which our bodies(ten fingers and toes) are still part of(reptiles belong to the number 8 -eight fingers and toes). Humans actually belong to the twelve-petalled heart chakra stage of evolvement(our bodies are out of date), and will one day evolve into the sixteen-petalled throat chakra stage. The chakras show the plan of our evolvement and the zodiac reflects it. We are presently emphasizing the intellect and need to become more feeling or "sentient".

MISSING SIGNS/HOUSES
When people look at their astrological charts one of the first comments they will make is that there is a sign(or house) with no planets in it and interpret it as a lack or deficiency. The astrologer then goes on to say that this is normal and that we make up for it by emphasizing some other sign or house. All this is true, but what is not told is that ideally, to be balanced, we should have a planet or factor in every sign/house and what's more the right planet in the right sign or house. Mars, for example, should be in Aries and/or in the first house. Unfortunately, such a chart is the exception and not the rule. Most of us have unbalanced charts(empty signs or houses and/or more than one planet in a sign or house) and we try to re-establish the balance through our relationships. Empty signs or houses indicate personal qualities or life activities that will not be normally expressed by you in this life but which may have been in emphasized in previous lives or will be in lives to come. Someone, for example, with no planets in Leo or the fifth house will not have much of a love life or association with children, unless it is stimulated by an outside party -and even then it will not be encouraged.

ASTROLOGY WITHOUT DEGREES
There will come a day when degrees will no longer be used in astrology and the beauty and simplicity of this queen of sciences will finally shine forth for all to see. Really, think about it: it is because of the mathematical use of degrees and minutes that astrology has become the burden and mess that it is. Not only are degress time-consuming and cluttering, but they also slice the zodiac into bits destroying its wholeness or uniformity. Signs are whole energies which should not be segmented. Only the sign ingress should be calculated. There is no difference between any degree of any sign nor does a sign have a beginning, middle or end. In the future when we evolve into the sixteen, ninety-six, and 1008-sign zodiacs the use of degrees will become increasingly non-sensical. The astrological houses are are the biggest mess astrology has ever created largely due to a misunderstanding of the true nature of the Ascendant or rising sign which is none other than the influence of our very own planet Earth. There should be no houses -only planets, signs, and their relationships(aspects by sign). Mars in the fifth is actually Mars in lower trine to the Earth. The Midheaven is a planet -it is our hollow Earth's inner sun. So we have twelve planets, twelve signs, and twelve aspects or relationships with no houses and degrees to mess things up. Astrology is simple and beautiful but somewhere along the way we messed it up.

THE TRUE DAY BEGINS WITH LIBRARISING
The ice-water canopies which covered the Earth before Noah's Flood dispersed light evenly around the globe so that there was no night as we have now -only day. The canopies also kept in the heat so that it was in the mid 70's farenheight everywhere and winds were always light or non-existant. The two smooth and transparent canopies, some twenty thousand feet apart, also acted like lenses, so that the planetary bodies appeared much closer than they really were, and no one needed telescopes to see them all. Needless to say, this made it ideal for astrologers to chart the cloudless bright-blue skies and divine the will of the "gods". One of the tasks of the astrologers was to mark the beginning of the day which began when the ruling sign of our planet, Libra, rose over the WESTERN horizon. It would of course rise at different times for different longitudes and lattitudes around the globe. Because the canopies were destroyed causing the Flood(s), the light of the sun now hits us directly without being dispersed and the result is that we now have the seasons as well as roughly twelve hours of excessive light followed by an equal amount of darkness. Cloudy days replicate the canopy effect somewhat by evening out both the light and heat. Untill the Earth's protective ice canopies are restored we will continue to be out of synch with the Earth's true clock which utilizes twelve rising signs, beginning with Libra.

GIFT IDEAS FOR THE SIGNS
In astrology both the Sun and Venus signs have a lot to say about what a person enjoys or values: Sun or Venus in Aries; hot cars and dates(choose red as a color), tools, hats and hair products, Sun or Venus in Taurus; fine music, dinner, and dancing, wallets and leather goods, Sun or Venus in Gemini; phones(cellulars), books, puzzles, love letters, and comedy fests, Sun or Venus in Cancer; photos or frames of loved ones, family dinners or events, baked goods, souvenirs, heirlooms, Sun or Venus in Leo; games, parties, jewelry(gold), and anything expensive and tasteful(with lots of compliments thrown in), Sun or Venus in Virgo; clothes, appliances, useful gadgets, computers, stationary, small pets, anything to do with music, Sun or Venus in Libra; nice clothes or perfumes, a pleasant night out(artistic or social event), decorative objects(vases, statues, paintings), good music, Sun or Venus in Scorpio; exotic and spicy food(and sex), spy gadgets, books or movies dealing with mystery or horror, Sun or Venus in Sagittarius; baggage, travel plans, nature outings, sports equipment, large pets or animals, bibles or spiritual literature, Sun or Venus in Capricorn; shelves, antique furniture, clocks and watches, cases and vaults, frames, covers, anything old and valuable, Sun or Venus in Aquarius; computers and other technical gadgets, telescopes and microscopes, magazine subscriptions, outings with friends, Sun or Venus in Pisces; movies and cameras, art works or supplies, music CD's or musical instruments, spiritual tapes or literature, occult books or activities.

SYNASTRY

SYNASTRY OR THE STUDY OF ASTROLOGICAL RELATIONSHIPS

Your ascendant or rising sign is the primary indicator of your personal relationships. This is because the Earth/Ascendant is the ruler of Libra -the sign of beauty, harmony, and relationships. It is also sub-linked to Taurus, which is why it has such a powerful influence on your physical body or appearance. Sun, Moon, Venus, or Mars, in one chart, in the same or opposite sign as the ascendant in the other chart, is a strong link between the sexes(or any other relationship), and particularly powerful or notable is the woman's ascendant opposite the man's sun. The Moons should be in compatible signs for emotional compatability, and the Mercurys for mental compatability. At least one Venus(preferably the woman's) should be compatible to the other's Mars(preferably the man's) for sexual compatability. Compatible Suns(in the same gender, element, or sign) give spiritual compatability and make the relationship permanent or enduring. A Sun/Moon link encourages friendship and romance. Venus\Venus shows similarity or difference in tastes and values and social acivities. Mars/Mars is how you combine forces and energies(and passions). Jupiter/Jupiter is trust and moral and philosophical issues. Saturn/Saturn is security and responsibility. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the wild card planets(their effect is often unpredictable). People of the same age have most or all of the outer planets(Jupiter to Pluto) in the same signs giving them a common outlook on life.

IDEAL ASTROLOGY CHART SETS GUIDELINES FOR RELATIONSHIPS
The ideal horoscope chart consists of every planet in its home sign and sets the guidelnes for Synastry or the art of relationships. In the ideal chart, the Sun is in Leo and the Earth/Ascendant is in Libra; this is a sextile relationship(two signs apart) and is the best aspect to have between one's Sun and the other's Ascendant or rising sign. Sun sextile Ascendant(by sign) is a pleasant and harmonious relationship based on friendship and communication and eases or diffuses any tense or volatile aspects found elsewhere between the charts. In the ideal chart Venus is in Taurus semi-sextiling(one sign apart) Mars in Aries, so that contrary to popular teaching, all Venus/Mars contacts should be naturally inharmonious, and the same with Sun and Moon. The best contacts are always between the same Sun signs, Moon signs, Mercury signs, etc., and this would be exactly the case if we ALL had ideal charts, unfortunately this is not possible at this time. So if you are trying to determine what is the best possible or natural relationship between any two planets, refer to the ideal chart. The ideal chart is a circle divided into twelve equal sections or slices, each containing one of the twelve signs(in sequential order) and its ruling planet as follows; Mars in Aries, Venus in Taurus, Mercury in Gemini, Moon in Cancer, Sun in Leo, X in Virgo, Earth/Ascendant in Libra, Pluto in Scorpio, Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Capricorn, Uranus in Aquarius, and Neptune in Pisces. You must have a basic knowledge of aspects(see basics 1 and 2 in the Fun with Astrology section of this site) to assess the harmony or discord between any two signs or planets.

THE SUN/ASCENDANT(EARTH) RELATIONSHIP
This is the primary indicator of attraction and harmony between two people -or the lack of it. At least one harmonious Sun/Ascendant link(by sign) should be present in order for the relationship to succeed, otherwise there will be tension and antipathy. One Sun opposite(by sign) to the other's Ascendant is often found between close friends or lovers and mates. The square(three signs away) is often found between family members(parent/child) and/or buisness relations(boss/employee). For easy expression of one's own nature, the Sun and Ascendant of that individual should be compatible(in the same gender) at birth. People born with incompatible Sun/Ascendant combinations(50% of us) are not what they appear to be and have the life-long misfortune of attracting the wrong people and situations in life.

THE MOON AND COMFORT
Are you planning to live together under the same roof on a daily basis? Make sure your Moon signs are compatible. Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius Moon signs are basically compatible with one another, as are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. The Moon rules moods and feelings and incompatible Moons are emotionally uncomfortable with one another, often blowing things out of proportion. Some simply can't stand one another. Of course there are exceptions based on other factors in the charts involved, but as a whole they will tend to get on each other's nerves, and it's no one's fault in particular -the chemistry just isn't there. It must be said, however, that feminine Moon signs are generally more sensitive, productive, and buisness-oriented than their masculine counterparts.

MERCURY AND COMMUNICATION
People with incompatible Mercurys simply cannot communicate properly or comfortably with one another, and it's no one's fault -the chemistry just isn't there. Masculine Mercurys(Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius) are all loud, open, insensitive types who basically understand one another, but they are at odds with the feminine Mercury signs(Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces) who are all quiet, secretive, and overly sensitive. Of course there are exceptions based on other factors between two people's charts, but the general rule applies, and if you are going into some kind of partnership where communication is crucial, it would be wise to check if your Mercury signs are compatible. Masculine Mercurys make good comedians and speakers, whereas feminine Mercury signs do better in analytical fields where attention to detail is required.

VENUS, MARS, AND AFFECTION
While Sun/Ascendant shows general physical attraction, Venus and Mars in two charts will show actual physical and emotional affection -or the lack thereof. There must be at least one harmonious Venus/Mars interchange(by sign) between the persons involved. Venus is the receptive side here and will not accept the advances of an incompatible Mars, which is why it is perhaps crucial in our male-dominated society, that the female Venus be compatible to the male Mars. It would of course be ideal to have it both ways, but this is not always possible. While the incompatible cross aspects between Venus and Mars can be tense and exciting, they are not enduring and actually get worse with time. Notable sign exceptions are between Aries/Scorpio(both traditionally ruled by Mars), Taurus and Libra(Venus), Capricorn and Aquarius(Saturn), and the odd pair of Leo and Pisces.

JUPITER AND ETHICS, SATURN AND SECURITY
People with compatible Jupiters share similar philosophies and ideals and will enjoy travelling or sporting with one another. Masculine Jupiters are more ethical and fortunate than their feminine counterparts. Compatible Saturns are an important stabilizing factor in any relationship. Incompatible Saturns don't see eye to eye on issues of security and responsibility and this can cause all sorts of problems, financially, domestically, and personally.

URANUS AND FRIENDSHIP, NEPTUNE AND THE PSYCHE, AND PLUTO AND INTENSITY
Uranus is your ability to make friends as well as your ability to break out of the mold. You will often befriend Suns of the same sign or element as your Uranus and they will find you challenging. In Libra, for example, you will seek beautiful and artistic friends and group activities. You are magnetized by the issues of your Neptune sign and can never seem to get enough. Neptune is your psyche or collective conciousness which you share with the same fourteen-year generation you are in. In Libra, for example, you are foerever seeking the ideal relationship, peace plan, or art form. Pluto is you're all or nothing planet. Whatever your Pluto sign is in, that is where you will go to extremes. In Libra, for example, you will be able to relate to someone completely or not at all.

MONEY AND THE SECOND HOUSE
You can make money or profit with your second house sign; Aries, for example, can make money or gains with Taurus, Taurus with Gemini, Gemini with Cancer, Cancer with Leo, Leo with Virgo, Virgo with Libra, Libra with Scorpio, Scorpio, with Sagittarius, Sagittarius with Capricorn, Capricorn with Aquarius, Aquarius with Pisces, and Pisces with Aries. This can work between Sun signs, Moon signs or any other two planets. The sign preceeding will sometimes suffer a loss in order for the sign succeeding to acquire his or her gain and there is often a karmic element involved. The sign ahead will perceive and understand the weaknesses of the sign before, having been there already, and will therefore be in a capacity to offer assistance or advice. If the sign before resists or rejects this help then there is likely to be a falling out, as signs next to each other are often completely different in every way, like night and day.

PHYSICAL ATTRACTION AND THE FIFTH HOUSE
People are physically or sexually attracted to their fifth house sign; Aries is physically or sexually attracted to Leo, Taurus to Virgo, Gemini to Libra, Cancer to Scorpio, Leo to Sagittarius, Virgo to Capricorn, Libra to Aquarius, Scorpio to Pisces, Sagittarius to Aries. Capricorn to Taurus, Aquarius to Gemini, and Pisces to Cancer. The attraction can be between Sun signs or any other two planets. Particularly potent are Sun/Sun, Sun/Moon, Sun/Ascendant, Sun/Venus, Sun/Mars, Sun/Jupiter, Sun/Uranus, Moon/Moon, Moon/Ascendant, Moon/Mars, Moon/Uranus, Venus/Venus, Venus/Mars, Venus/Ascendant, Venus/Uranus, Mars/Mars, Mars/Ascendant, Mars/Jupiter, Mars/Uranus, Jupiter/Ascendant, and Uranus/Ascendant. The closer the aspect in terms of the degrees, the more intense or powerful the attraction; example, Venus at 21 degrees Pisces trine Venus at 24 degrees Cancer. The Ascendant is a key player here, so that whatever planetary combination is involved in the attraction, it will be greatly enhanced by a favorable Sun/Ascendant relationship(by sign).

SEX AND THE FIFTH HOUSE
You are physically or sexually attracted to your fifth house sign. This would mean...Aries is turned on by Leo, Taurus by Virgo, Gemeni by Libra, Cancer by Scorpio, Leo by Sagittarius, Virgo by Capricorn, Libra by Aquarius, Scorpio by Pisces, Sagittarius by Aries, Capricorn by Taurus, Aquarius by Gemeni, and Pisces by Cancer. This can be on a Sun sign level, or any other. The more fifth house(trine) aspects(by sign and not necessarily by degree) there are between the planets in two charts, the more they will be passionately in love with one another. Exactness by degree will intensify what is already there by sign or element.

YOUR BEST DOCTOR OR EMPLOYEE
Your sixth house sign will make your best doctor, employee, or job finder. If you are a Sun in Aries, for example, look to a Sun in Virgo for help with your health or work. For Taurus it's a Libra, and so on so on around the zodiac wheel. If the Mercurys are also similarily configured, this is ideal. In fact, any other planetary pairing will have a similar effect, as long as it's a 1/6 relationship. This is called the lower quincunx or iconjunct aspect in astrology(see "Aspects and Houses" in the Fun With Astrology section of this website).

THE DOMINATION GAME: WHICH SIGNS DOMINATE WHICH?
In the game of life, everybody gets to dominate and be dominated -no exceptions. Astrology clarifies this principle via the zodiac wheel; the sign or element just ahead of yours is always the dominant one. This would mean that Aries or fire is dominated by Taurus or the earth element. Taurus is in turn dominated by Gemini or the air element, and so on. In this way, everybody gets to dominate or be dominated. Most dominant of all(more so than your second or sixth house signs) is your tenth house sign. This would mean Capricorn for Aries, Aquarius for Taurus, Pisces for Gemeni, and so on. Your tenth house sign is your "boss", parent, or authority figure, and this can occur on many levels(mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc.). For example, on the mental or communicative level(Mercury) a Mercury in Aries will totally dominate a conversation with a Mercury in Cancer. On a solar(Sun/vital) level a Sun in Leo will always take charge of a Sun in Scorpio, and so on.

CELEBRITIES

BUSH AND BLAIR ASTROLOGICAL CHARTS
George Bush Jr., born 7:26 AM, July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Conneticut, is a Sun in Cancer with Leo ascendant(He is not as confident as he looks). Mercury, Venus, and Pluto are also in Leo making him a forceful speaker and giving him a certain love of the limelight as well as a love of sports. Moon and Jupiter and Neptune in Libra truly gives him a desire for peace(at least on the homefront) but Midheaven in Aries establishes his reputation as being impatient and warmonging. Saturn in the sign of his sun makes him take everything seriously, especially if it concerns himself or his family. Mars in Virgo makes him a plodder and Uranus in Gemini gives him a certain wit and ability to communicate. Peace and security through action and bravado would aptly sum him up.

Tony Blair, born 6 AM, May 6, 1953 in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a Sun in Taurus with Gemini ascendant(He is firmer than he looks). Mars in the same sign as his ascendant gives him an impulsive demeanor. Jupiter in the same sign as his Sun gives him status and importance, especially where wealth or territory is concerned. Moon in Aquarius makes him concerned with the welfare of others, Mercury in Aries makes him impatient, open, and fiery in speech, Venus in Aries gives him a love of speed and action and Saturn and Neptune in Libra give a desire for peace and justice that will be difficult to attain. Uranus in Cancer makes for an unpredictable and unsettling domestic life and Pluto in Leo goes to extremes in love and play. Midheaven in Capricorn likes to be organized. Mr Blair is truly a man of contradictions, and will continue to be pulled in many directions, despite his basic need for stability.

SADDAM'S ASTROLOGICAL CHART
If Bush rates a 5 and Blair a 4, Saddam rates a 3(out of twelve). This system of rating is based on the fact that every planet is good in six signs and bad in six others. Most people have an equal number of good planets(virtues) and bad planets(vices). Saddam Hussein was born in Tikrit, Iraq on the morning of April 27, 1937. Sun, Mercury, and Uranus, and maybe even the Ascendant in Taurus, makes him a plodding, practical, and earthy type of fellow. He is also surprisingly clever and enduring. Venus and Saturn in Aries make him ruthless and militant. Moon and Mars in Sagittarius gives him moral or religious strength and influence. Jupiter in Capricorn makes him wise and ambitious but with a tendency to use others. Neptune in Virgo and Pluto in Cancer makes part of a generation that is keen on family, patriotism, hard work, and cleanliness. I am not sure what sign his Midheaven is in.

SCHWARZENEGGER, SHRIVER, AND CALIFORNIA
Actor turned politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger(July 30, 1947, 4:10am, Graz, Austria) has a tough job ahead as governor of the world's richest and most powerful state -California(September 9, 1850, 9:41am, San Jose), and so does his supporting wife, Maria Shriver(November 6, 1955, 5:12pm, Chicago, Illinois). In fact, Shriver may be better suited for the job, as her chart is more naturally compatible to that of California. Arnold's chart is not so compatible and he may have to rely heavily on his backers and administrative team to carry him through. Shriver's Sun(Scorpio) falls on California's ascendant while Schwarzenegger's Sun(Leo) falls on California's midheaven. Scorpio is the sign of the dark side of life and Leo is light and entertainment, and this describes California perfectly. Both Schwarzenegger and Shriver have Jupiter in each other's Sun sign, which means that they like each other, but in a Leo/Scorpio relationship -Leo usually dominates. Both lead active and successful lives due in large part to their elite lineage. Arnold's father, Gustav, was a Nazi commander, and Maria is a Kennedy niece. Both try to lead their own lives, however, as they are both highly determined and independant individuals. Shriver is a long-time news reporter and writer, while Schwarzenegger continues to be involved in bodybuilding and acting.

PREDICTION

URANUS' LAST DANCE IN AQUARIUS
Uranus is back in Aquarius for the rest of the year(Sept.15 to Dec.29) after dipping its toes in Pisces for half a year(Mar.11 to Sept.14), and Aquarians or those strongly influenced by this sign are back to their confident, original, zany and rebellious selves. It's amazing how moods can change as planets change, and it often works on a subconcious level where responses are less controlled or conditioned. Anyone with planets in Aquarius(especially Sun or Ascendant) have felt the liberating and revolutionary effect of Uranus during the last seven years(1996-2003), and people born during this time will be seekers of truth and be involved in humanitarian causes. Uranus in Pisces(2003-2010) is another story. It is liberation and revolution as well, but in areas like drinking, drugs, art, film, photography, music, mysticism, psychic phenomena, and other Piscean related issues. The danger here is negative escapism, and a marked loss of ego and energy, while the positive side is enhanced sensitivity or awareness, creativity, and inner peace and development.

VARIOUS

WE ARE TWELVE-FOLD ASTROLOGICAL BEINGS

With twelve planets and twelve signs, there are a total of 144 planetary placements or positions which should be treated as WHOLES, for each describes a different and separate level or quality of existence. Each of us can have only 12 of these 144 possible placements per given lifetime and it requires at least 12 lifetimes to acquire and pass all of these 144 "credits" to become a Master of life. Planets in their own sign are the cream of these 144 credits and represent lessons which you have mastered in previous lives.

Astrology at present is too divided and dissected. Planet in sign placements should be treated as WHOLES. Do not divide them. We are Twelve-Fold Beings, and how these twelve parts of us(our twelve planet in signs) relate to one other and to someone else's parts is what astrology is truly all about. Even the bible says that we are all "parts of one another" and this is the way astrology should be understood.

The mechanics of how all these parts work(or don't work) together has not been dealt with substantially in astrology, and this is sad for there is much knowledge or understanding to be gained from this.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

While I am wary of joining or subscribing to any occult organization, such as thr Rosicrucians, Freemasons, etc.(and I've had the opportunity), this does not mean they do not have valid or advanced imformation. Quite the contrary. I find the esoteric or theosophical texts and their treatment of astrology to be quite interesting and revealing, but I feel they may also be a tad too ephemereal or theoretical.

I am wating for the day when those responsible for the segregation of all knowledge are removed from power, and religion and science and the occult and all other sources of knowledge and wisdom finally come together. Then we will have a more (w)holistic view or approach to everything, and finally be healed. There are truly no islands in the universe. Everything at some point is connected to everything else. Our hidden rulers know this, but it is not in their (selfish)interests to have it so. Who are our hidden rulers? The secret societies, basically -but they are only the tip of the iceberg. They in turn are ruled by more heinous and powerful forces.

Humanity has grown up and no longer needs to be pampered or dictated to by the rules of its parents who do not even show themselves to us(what have they got to hide?). Instead it appears we have been orphaned or left abandoned and must fend for ourselves. Even if our creators or guardians do visit us periodically, whether from outer space or the inner earth, it is mostly for selfish reasons. Humanity must flower into its full potential if we are to cease being the raw material of the "gods" or for non-human entities. People like Krishna, and Buddha, and Apollonius(the true Christ of the 1st century AD) have shown us the way, and we must follow.

All of the great masters were proficient in astrology. Ridicule of this great science/art and the segregation or ostracization of all important or major groups of knowledge(our rulers purposely pit one against the other -as they do with everthing else) indicates that we are still being ruled by dark and selfish forces. It is up to us to wake up and change this. The Internet is presently a great opportunity for us to do this and I am doing my part and know that many others are doing the same.

One of my most fervent goals is to solve the entire mystery of Astrology, and at the heart of it is the knowledge of the twelve major planets(one has yet to be confirmed), and their corresponding rulers. To do so would give me a powerful sense of completion and self-knowledge. Knowing all your parts(astrologically) and how they work together is a very satisfying feeling. These parts are your planet-in-sign placements. More work is defintely needed in establishing the correspondences between these planetary placements and our daily lives.

A NEW MODE OR QUADRUPLICTY

As to what constitutes masculine or feminine...

1. Very masculine: Sun(Leo), Mars(Aries), Jupiter(Sagittarius)
2. Border-line masculine: Earth(Libra), Mercury(Gemeni), Uranus(Aquarius)
3. Border-line feminine: Venus(Taurus), Saturn(Capricorn), Mercury/X(Virgo)
4. Very Feminine: Moon(Cancer), Neptune(Pisces), Pluto(Scorpio)

2 and 3 are very close to being bisexual or androgenous, but not quite.

The Fire element is purest in the cardinal(active)mode. This means Aries.
The Earth element is purest in the fixed mode. This means Taurus.
The Air element is purest in the mutable mode. This means Gemeni.

There is no pure water sign, as there is no fourth mode or quadruplicity.

A new mode or quadruplicity which I call "sentient" would have to be created to constitute a pure water sign, and which would extend the zodiac to sixteen signs. We are presently in the "intellect" phase of our evolution. Our sentient or psychic natures have yet to be developed fully or collectively. Only after mastering the intellect(as represented by Gemeni) will we move from the 12-petalled heart chakra(twelve-sign zodiac) level to the 16-petalled(16 sign zodiac) throat chakra phase of our evolution. Then we will have a sentient fire sign(new), sentient earth sign(new), sentient air sign(new), and sentient water sign(new and pure). Four modes and four elements(16 signs).

Fire and Earth were the two Primal elements in our universe. Their interaction brought about the Air and Water elements, which are more refined elements and which characterize our more humane our sensitive natures. People with an abundance of planets in Fire or Earth are more basic, crude, or primitive in nature.

THE RULERSHIP QUESTION

Ptolemy's Tetrabiblios(100-170 AD?) is the bible for modern astrology, compiled from more ancient works, many of them once accessible in the Great Library of Alexandria, which was pillaged and destroyed by fanatical "Christians" around 400 AD.

The theory for the assignations of the diurnal and nocturnal rulerships for the five visible planets -Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, are well expounded in chapters 20 and 21 of book I of Tetrabiblios. Distance, location, temperament, and extensive observation are used to arrive at the presently assigned rulerships.

These rulership assignations have been used successfully(?) since that time, but it is an ambiguous system in need of clarification. The whole problem is that our planet and solar system is in a state of disrepair. Before the Noachian Flood which destroyed Atlantis, our planet was covered or enveloped by a series of ice canopies which induced an Eden state on our surface. These canopies also acted like lenses magnifying the skies and making Uranus and Neptune(Pluto was nearer to Earth then), and most of the stars clearly visible to the naked eye. Astrology was then a twelve-planet/twelve sign system, with each planet ruling a single sign. The canopies dispersed the sun's rays and heat so that there was no night or winter, and therefore no diurnal or nocturnal. The whole planet was basked in continual daylight, with no storms, strong winds, or even shadows, and with temperatures always in the mid-70's farenheight. Then the Invaders came, and the wars, and the collapse of the canopies, which brought flood and destruction, and disease, aging, and death. When these canopies are restored, astrology will once again enjoy a golden age, and gone will be the ambiguous double rulership system that we have today. This process has already started with the rediscovries of Uranus(1781), Neptune(1846), and Pluto(1930). Earth and X follow, and by then the canopies will be up and the golden age or millennium begun.

Our present Moon is a fairly recent aquisition. When the Invaders came and their planet/ship was destroyed, they used their Moon(now our Moon) as an Ark to settle on Earth and have been with us ever since(mostly in the Inner Earth). This catastrophic event(linked to Noah's Flood and the sinking of Atlantis) may have occurred around 8800 BC. It inaugurated night and day and the diurnal/nocturnal rulership scheme, as some of the planets were moved, destroyed, or lost from sight(Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, X). All of the debris in our solar system(comets, meteors, asteroids, etc. are the remains of one or more exploded planets in our forgotten past.

Water is the dark or nightside of Fire and Earth is the dark or nightside of Air. There is a great mystery here. All was once aether or semi-matter, out of which were born the four astrological elements, via cooling, heating, condensation, etc. Remember when I said there were two primal elements -Fire and Earth; when fire immerses(incarnates) itself into matter the immersed part becomes Water or Soul. Likewise, the immersed part of Earth becomes Air or Mind. When Fire or Spirit withdraws from Matter or Body(death), Water or Soul and Air or Mind are no longer. Our spirit carries the memories of our incarnations, but they are not activated untill our next incarnation, and then mostly on a subconcious level.

The Earth/Air and Fire/Water association in the double rulership scheme is strenuous and conflicting and reveals a great truth -that our life here and now is also strenuous and conflicting. Earth life as we know it is a temporary and unnatural state. It is an experiment doomed to fail! Yet we keep coming back(reincarnating) for more. Why? Because like any bad habit -it's hard to get rid of! Yes, reincarnation is a bad habit!

When the dual rulership scheme completely singles out we will return to being the spiritual entities we were always meant to be. Marriage for example, is a Venus/Earth or Taurus/Libra affair. When these two signs have their own official rulers, marriage will vanish(and it's already happening) and we will be like the angels who neither marry nor have sex. Communication is a Mercury/X or Gemini/Virgo affair. When these two signs finally have their own offiical rulers, we will lose our speech and become telepathic. There is more to be gained when every planet becomes independent and is linked to only one ruling sign than when it is with two. Our whole unnatural(and compromised) lifestyle is due to this dual linkage of signs and elements. It's like two people trying to live their unique lifestyles under the same roof -there are usualy more conflicts than benefits. Personally, I'd rather have my own apartment. It's also like two different races sharing the same country(Quebec and the rest of Canada, for example). Sooner or later they'll want and have their own borders.

Assigning two signs or elements to the same planet is a bad thing, even though it presently exists. It's like putting two entirely different people in the same living quarters, when each should have his own dwelling. This situation has come about because of the dissaray in our solar system. There was an interplanetary rebellion or invasion. Planets were occupied or destroyed. Whole races or populations were destroyed or relocated. That is why we have so many different races on our planet. We do not all belong on this planet! The ruling race of a planet constitutes its rulership. Since I believe our planet to be ruled by Libra its ruling race would most likely be blonde and blue-eyed(Holy shades of Hitler!). Does this race nhabit the Inner Earth. I don't really know. Perhaps(at least that's where Hitler was pointing to). Many of Earth's races colonized here or were imported from other worlds, as were many of our animals and vegetation.

The bottom line is that each planet should be linked(ideally) to only one sign or element, and that for it to be linked to two(which is possible -like two(or more) spirits or entities possessing the same body) will only make problems. Our planet will undergo an exorcism!

As to why many astrologers stick with the old dual-rulership system, there are many and varied reasons. The outermost planets are not visible to them so they must reason that they are not to be accounted for, and so they have no choice but to assign five of the wanderers or visible planets to two signs each. It's the old proverb -stick with what you see and understand. I call these the Capricorn(limited) astrologers. Then there are those who go beyond the limits of matter and convention and surmise correctly, that if there are twelve signs or energies, there should also be twelve planets or bodies to house these energies. It is very likely that the energies(spirits) themselves CREATED the planets. I call these the Aquarian astrologers. Another interesting possibility is that the double rulership scheme has been purposely concocted and perpetuated to confuse or disempower common astrologers, while the perpetuators themselves use the full and true scheme. The world's elite must know where all the twelve planets are and exactly what influences they exert, but wil not share this for purposes of power and control. The discoveries of Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and whatever comes next may all have been set up or timed by them. Shades of conspiracy! Or perhaps there is a certain truth or validity to the old scheme. Personally, however, I feel we've been duped or deceived and that Saturn never really ruled Aquarius, or Jupiter Pisces, or Mars Scorpio(I may be wrong, but I'm throwing my hat in anyways).

NUMERICAL AND OTHER ASSOCIATIONS

The ascendant stands for(and is) planet Earth and is linked to Libra. X may be Nibiru, Vulcan, Earth's Inner Sun(Midheaven), or whatever twelfth body/planet needs to be confirmed/rediscovered(or even recreated!) and is linked to Virgo. The Hebrew alphabet should be expanded to 24 letters or characters, or at least 23 to include Pluto(the status of X is still uncertain). As to which specific number relates to which specific planet or sign -this is arbitrary and debatable. I still stick to the basic and unalterable rule that the masculine planets/signs should be linked to the odd numbers and the the feminine planets/signs to the even numbers. A duodecimal(twelve-based) number system should replace our current decimal system. This would necessitate the creation of three new single-digit characters representing the numbers ten, eleven and twelve(why not use the astrological glyphs of the signs for this, with the symbol for Aries representing one, Taurus two, etc.?).

Sun/Leo(fire) is the hottest influence and Uranus/Aquarius(air) is the coldest. Saturn/Capricorn(earth), while cold, has more to do with hardness and dryness, and Moon/Cancer(water), while basically warm, has more to do with softness and moisture. Saturn is usually linked to Ice, snow, or frost, but this is the old and limited interpretation(when Saturn ruled both Capricorn and Aquarius), and not altogether accurate. When Uranus was discovered and integrated into our lives, the real ice and snow left Saturn and became the province of Uranus. Moon, Neptune, or Pluto in Aquarius would be more apt in describing frozen water or liquids.
