Stars should not be disregarded in astrology as many can be just as influential as the planets. We have divorced ourselves from the stars in this
modern era of the last few hundred years yet we must reaquaint ourselves with them if we are to enrich our knowledge of astrology and the cosmos.
Stars are the immortalization or glorification of true beings from many worlds who have lived, died, and been "resurrected". Their unique natures and achievements are
permanently inscribed in the heavens as models or archetypes for all of us today. You too can have your story written in the stars, as the universe is constantly looking
for new or unusual achievements to add to its limitless library.
Stars are also divine essences or angelic beings and represent our fifth-dimensional state or spiritual potential. According to a Sufi sage, humans become moons and planets,
and planets become stars. Stars are therefore very old and powerful beings. They too grow old and die(after millions and billions of years) and turn into novas, dwarfs and black holes.
Stars are also cities and cities are stars. Stars in fact give birth to cities and for every city or town there is a corresponding star. All spheres are universes and contain all the stars
within them. Since the Earth is a sphere, it too contains all the stars, in the form of cities. The largest or most prominent cities are also the largest or brightest stars, and the birth or
death of a star is also the birth or death of a city.
Four stars in particular have always been prominent in astrology. These are the four Royal stars also known as the four Archangels, namely Alderbaran(heart of the Bull),
Regulus(heart of the Lion), Antares(heart of the Scorpion), and Fomalhaut(heart of the Man). All four were in the fixed signs(tropical Zodiac) untill some 700 years ago when they started going
into the mutable signs. Constellation-wise they are still where they were in ancient times. Regulus is the only one of the four that has yet to cross over from Leo to Virgo(which it will do on
Nov.29, 2011 AD). Then all four will be in the same mode or quadruplicity again and usher in a new era just as the Mayans predicted.
There is also another list or group of stars considered important by ancient and medieval astrologers. These are the Behenia stars and there are 15 of them including the
4 Royal stars. They are: Algol, Pleaides, Alderbaran, Capella, Sirius, Procyon, Regulus, Polaris, Gienah, Spica, Arcturus, Alphecca, Antares, Vega, and Deneb Adige.
Then there are all the other countless stars with their own particular influences no doubt. You should not be restricted to any list, but it is true that the brightest or
most conspicuous stars usually hold the most power over our lives. Any star of 1 degree magnitude or less should be treated very seriously. 2 degrees or less can also be
important. Magnitude is not the only consideration but it is a prime one.
For the brightest stars, an orb of up to 6 degrees can be considered. Most other stars are influential to 1 or 2 degrees of orb. Also, use only the conjunction. Other aspects
may work but, since there are so many stars, this will quickly clutter up the horoscope.
In the list below there are some notable peculiarities, such as Algol Caput being the worst star(demon star) and Regulus being the best(or one of the best). It seems most of the
worst stars are currently in Earth signs(Taurus and Capricorn in particular) and most of the best in air or fire signs(Leo-Sag and Libra-Aquarius in particular).
Which stars are important in your horoscope? Decide this for yourself. Below is an excellent list of over 160 notable stars from The Fixed Stars page/site by Rob Tillett. Note: Positions are for 2000 AD. Add or subtract 50" per year
