| The spice Girls are a British phenomenon that exploded onto the music scene in the mid-to-late 1990's. Hits like Wannabe(1996), catapulted them into stardom, followed by Say You'll Be There(1996), 2 Become 1(1996/97), Who Do You Think You Are(1997), Mama(1997), Spice Up Your Life(1997), Too Much(1997/98), Stop(1998), Viva Forever(1998), Goodbye(1998), Holler(2000), and Let Love Lead the Way(2000/2001). They also produced Spice World: the Movie(1998). The group is well known for their promotion of "female power". Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998, but the remaining members continued untill early 2001 before calling it quits and pursuing solo careers. A temporary reunion of all five members occurred in June of 2007 for a worldwide tour starting in December of the same year. | ||||
| Notes & Analysis: The group Spice Girls consists of two Fire Suns(Geri & Victoria) and two Air Suns(Emma & Melanie B.), with only one Earth and feminine Sun sign(Melanie C.). All five come from England and belong to the Neptune in Sag - Pluto in Libra generation. Some tension has been noted between Geri and Melanie C.(the Suns and Mercurys are in quncunx or stressful relationship by sign -Leo versus Capricorn: both have a need to control. After Geraldine Estelle Halliwell left the group on May 30,1998, she went on to a successful solo career producing three albums, two autobiographies and two Yoga dvd's. With at least 8 planets in masculine signs, most of them in fire, Geri Halliwell is a dynamo of force and creative expression. Victoria Caroline Beckham filled in most of the gap for Geri's absence and started doing her own solo work in 2000 producing two albums, but her music career soon fizzled and she went on to a more successful fashion career. She also wrote two books: an autobiography and a fashion book. Victoria has at least 9 planets in masculine signs, 4 in fire giving her presence and strength, and five in air giving her both beauty and intelligence. Victoria is very close to Geri(both are fire sun signs). After the group's break up Melanie Jayne Chisholm went on to become a very successful solo artist producing four albums and co-writing 11 UK number one singles. She has her own record company called Red Girl Records(2004-). Melanie Chisholm's planets are mostly in earth (practical, organized) and air(sociable, intelligent), with a notable lack of water(emotion, sensitivity) -unless she has it on the angles(Asc/MC). Emma Lee Bunton also went on to a solo career producing three albums, and also made some TV and movie appearances. Her chart shows a preponderance of masculine planets, especially air, making her more socially and intellectually inclined. Melanie Janine Brown went on to produce three albums, as well as doing some TV hosting and acting, and writing an autobiography. She also has a preponderance of masculine(extroverted) signs, with 5 air, 4 fire, 3 water, and 0 earth. Note: the newly discovered planet Eris is not included in this analysis. | ||||
