Villified Roman emperor of the 1st century
AD best known for his political and sexual
exploits including the murder of his own
mother(59 AD) and possibly the burning of
Rome(64 AD). Ruled from 54 AD(age 16)
to his suicide on June 9, 68 AD(age 31.5).
Words before his death: "What an
artist the world is losing in me"
Roman emperor Nero was a Sagittarian Sun with Pluto in exact cojunction giving him a very powerful, intense, and extreme ego. Mars is also conjunct adding couage, energy, volatility, militancy, and impetuousness. Mercury with the Sun made him an influential thinker and speaker. Moon in Leo is his need for power and fame and the adoration he so dearly sought from the crowds. This Moon can be very hot-headed or violent when it does not get what it wants. Mercury in Sagittarius is open and honest and interested in spiritual matters or subjects. Travel and international affairs are also often on the mind. Mercury with Mars is impulsive in speech and puts ideas into action. Mercury with Pluto can be cunning and devious and digs deep into research. Venus in Capricorn is organized and resourceful and can be very physical or sensual in love. Mars in Sagittarius is an active traveler and explorer and fights for spiritual principles. Mars conjunct Pluto is intensely passionate and focused. This conjunction in Sagittarius may be responsible for his persecution of the early Christian sects, and with Mars also involved there is much potential for violence(like burning or setting the Christians afire). His many Sagittarian planets also gave him a love of sports and outdoor games, especially horse racing. Jupiter in Scorpio is Nero's love of danger, death, and sexual excess as well as his interest in the occult. Jupiter being lucky and his ruler -he got away with a lot of horrific crimes or misdemeanors. Saturn in Virgo is one iof his better placements giving him much practical ability and common sense. His accomplishments in building and health issues are well noted. Saturn with Uranus mixes tradition or tried and true with science and innovation. Uranus in Virgo seeks to improve our daily lives through the introduction of new technologies or methodologies and the scientific study of medicine or diet. Neptune in Aquarius is a truly strange and otherworldly placement given to bizarre thoughts and addictions. These people dream of a future brotherhood or utopia based on truth and science and universal freedom. Pluto in Sagittarius goes to extremes in moral and spiritual matters and often faces or metes out persecution. On the positive side, they can revolutionize fundamental spiriual concepts and develop unique modes of long distance travel. Being born at sunrise, Nero may well have Sag rising bringing to the fore and emphasizing all of his other Sag planets and qualities. Libra MC is his artistic and pleasure-loving side -or is that Eris in Libra(or both).

The beautiful but treacherous mother of Nero and sister of Caligula, and for a time empress of Rome under Claudius. She was instrumental in paving the way for her son Nero as emperor, marrying into power and ruthlessly eliminating anyone in the way of herself and her son. She was in many ways more vile than Nero and her interference in her son's love affairs ultimately led to her assasination in 59 AD.
